To begin your journey as an SEU student, it is important that you complete the following steps prior to the start of the semester.
Step 1: Financial AidFinancial aid is a great way to help cover the cost of college. Make sure to apply for aid early to see how much you are eligible for. We are here to help with any questions! Step 2: Parent Portal (FERPA)The Parent Portal gives parents and other designated parties the ability to view student information based on what a student wants to share—helping SEU meet the requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This portal is a good communication tool between parents, students, and the institution to give students the support they need while transitioning into a higher education learning environment. Step 3: Course SchedulingDeclare your major, register for classes, change your schedule, and track your degree progress. Academic advisors are available to help guide you through this process. Pay close attention to registration deadlines and course sessions! Watch this video for step-by-step instructions on following your degree plan and registering for the correct courses each semester.Transfer students: watch this video to learn important transfer credit information.Step 4: TextbooksTextbooks should be purchased for each class unless they are already included. Some courses use open educational resource (OER) textbooks, which may be included in the course as a lab fee or provided for free. Students are responsible for securing their own textbooks needed for each course. Instructions for purchasing textbooks can be found by clicking the link in the Step 4 heading above.
