Mission Statement

The mission of commuter life is to inspire off-campus students to engage in the culture of Southeastern University by providing unique services and programming in order to enhance their experience as students and to prepare them for their future.

Why We Exist

Our purpose is to connect off-campus living with campus life by providing resources, open communication and campus-wide opportunities for engaging the body of off-campus students. We do this by doing the following:

• Linking you to other students
• Connecting you to resources
• Informing you about campus events
• Offering leadership opportunities
• Involving you in the community

Commuter Life Lounge

The Commuter Life Lounge serves as a home away from home for our commuter students, with comfortable furniture, games, TV, study desks, computers, printing, a microwave and a full refrigerator available for use. This is a place for you to study, relax, and connect with other commuter students all throughout the school year. You can find us in Aventura 208 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

What’s Happening On Campus

One of the best ways to stay up to date on what’s happening on campus is to visit the SEU Calendar. There you will find academic, athletic, and events occurring throughout the school year. 

Checking your SEU email on a regular basis will also keep you in touch with what is happening on campus. Among the many forms of communication that students use, email is favored by faculty and staff and is used for many official SEU communications. Additionally, the Commuter Life team sends out monthly newsletters to your inbox that will keep you up to date on all things Commuter Life!

Student Resources

We have a student resources folder that gives you information on all of the Commuter Life Team, student discounts in the area, monthly newsletters and so much more! All you have to do is click on the link below and it will take you to a Google folder with that information in it.

If you want to sit down and get coffee or lunch with any of us as well, you can reach out the same way because we would love to get to know you better!

Become a Commuter Assistant

Commuter Assistants exist to aid in the mission of the Commuter Life Program to see every commuter connected to the physical and spiritual elements at Southeastern University. Commuter Assistants are selected along with all other student leaders in the spring semester, following an application and interview process. Please reach out to the Commuter Life Coordinators to ask them any additional questions you may have about the position.
