Take a look at our list of technology requirements to make sure your computer, new or old, has the most up-to-date software. Even though you might not be on the physical Southeastern campus, you still have access to Southeastern’s library resources–periodicals, e-books, databases, and librarians–to name a few. Go to the main library page to access the resources, but make sure you read the special privileges for online students listed below. As an online student, you have extra privileges that on-campus students don’t have. The Steelman Library has created a Web site specifically for online students. LibGuide is your online resource center for research and material requests. LibGuide will be a crucial part of your ability to find the right information to help your studies. Through Libguide, you’ll have access to over 15,000 full text periodicals and 2,000 e-books. Librarian Kathleen Kempa specializes in electronic research and distance education. She will personally assist you in your research. Mrs. Kempa can be reached at (863) 667-5949, or by e-mail at kfkempa@seu.edu. Borrowing policies You’re allowed to check out books for four weeks instead of the usual two weeks. Information request Even if you live out of state, you can still access Southeastern’s resources. You can send requests to Kathy Kempa for journal articles or books. Make sure you include as much information as possible, such as author, title, and publication date. After processing your request, Kathy faxes or mails the information you’ve requested. SEU Web mail Make sure you check your school e-mail account daily. Important announcements and classroom changes are made via e-mail. Career Center/Employment Get help creating a crisp, professional resume. Get advice on your job search. Once you have a list of books that you need, refer to Southeastern’s online university bookstore for pricing, availablitiy, and book rental options.
