Orientation-Online

Welcome to Southeastern University! Our mission is to help you discover your divine design, equipping you to go into the world to make an impact for Christ. To begin your journey as an SEU student, it is important that you complete the following steps prior to the start of the semester.

Step 1: Financial Aid

Financial aid is a great way to help cover the cost of college. Make sure to apply for aid early to see how much you are eligible for. We are here to help with any questions!

Step 2: FERPA Release (Parent Portal, Authentication Process)

The Parent Portal gives your parent(s), grandparent(s), guardian(s), and/or spouse the ability to view your student information based on what you want to share—helping SEU meet the requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This portal is a good communication tool between parents, students, and the institution to give students the support they need while transitioning into a higher education learning environment.

Students that choose to release education records to other entities may complete an Authentication Release form, located here.
For more information about your rights under FERPA, and the Parent Portal, please click the link above.

Step 3: Course Scheduling

Declare your major, register for classes, change your schedule, and track your degree progress. Academic advisors are available to help guide you through this process. Pay close attention to registration deadlines and course sessions!

Watch this video for step-by-step instructions on following your degree plan and registering for the correct courses each semester.

Step 4: Textbooks

Textbooks should be purchased for each class unless they are already included. Some courses use open educational resource (OER) textbooks, which may be included in the course as a lab fee or provided for free. Students are responsible for securing their own textbooks needed for each course. Instructions for purchasing textbooks can be found by clicking the link in the Step 4 heading above.

Step 5: Important Add/Drop Information

Here’s what you need to know before classes start.

Step 6: Success Tips

We are committed to providing you the support that you need to assist in your academic success. Stay engaged, follow a plan, and know your resources!
