Course Registration

New Extended Education students will be registered for SEU 1001, Student Success, as well as THEO-1503 Christ, Culture, and the University (3 credits). All other course registration is the responsibility of the student.

New traditional students will be registered for THEO 1503 as well as the appropriate learner support course(s) if applicable. All other course registration is the responsibility of the student.

Full time status for financial aid purposes is a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.

The ETS Exam is required for freshman who transfer in less than 12 credit hours. The test is emailed to your SEU email address, and should be taken in the first semester before classes begin. If you have questions, please contact testing@seu.edu.

If you have AP, CLEP, IB, Dual Enrollment credit, or College transfer credit, please submit all official transcripts/test results to SEU, and do not register for course(s) you have already received credit for. Dual enrollment transcripts must come from the college, not the high school. The deadline to submit all transferrable credit is the end of your first semester of attendance at SEU; however please submit all transcripts immediately upon acceptance to SEU.

Transfer students may have issues registering for a course that requires a pre-requisite, if the prerequisite course was taken at another institution and has not yet been applied to the SEU transcript. Email the Office of the Registrar at registrar@seu.edu if this happens to you so we can help you get registered.

The Consumer Information page at this link, http://www.seu.edu/support/consumer-information/ is intended to provide current students, prospective students and their families with important information regarding the university.

Visit myseu.seu.edu/registrar for information regarding all other Registrar-related concerns.

English and Math Placement for New Traditional Students: Traditional Students are placed in the proper English and Math courses based on scores from the SAT, ACT, COMPASS, AccuPlacer, and PERT tests. To view what courses to enroll in based on test scores, please click here.

Articulation Agreement with a State of Florida schools (AA date conferred must show on transcript): If a student transfers in with an AA (Associate of Arts) from a school in Florida, we will waive any differences in the general education requirements with the exception of any prerequisites for major core. Any waivers in the general education or religion core must be made up with elective hours. The total hours required for the degree does not change.

Course Substitution Requests: Send an email to advising@seu.edu for review and possible approval.

Transfer students (non-religion majors): You are required to take a limited number of religion courses rather than the full religion minor required of non-transfers.

Transient Courses: Students who wish to take courses from outside institutions (like study abroad) must first complete a Transient Form in MySEU and receive approval before any course is taken for credit outside of SEU.

Once the approved credits are complete, it is the student’s responsibility to request official transcripts to be sent to SEU for evaluation and documentation.
