Steps to Apply for Financial Aid at SEU

1. As soon as you are accepted for admission, eligibility for the academic merit scholarships will be automatically determined. Test scores to determine appropriate scholarship tier must be submitted by add/drop for the fall/spring semesters.
2. Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The priority deadline for submitting the FAFSA is April 15. The FAFSA may be submitted online at studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
   Southeastern’s FAFSA code is #001521.
3. Once Southeastern receives your FAFSA information, the Office of Student Financial Services will contact you regarding any additional documentation required to complete your financial aid file.
4. Upon completion of the previous steps, Southeastern will send you an award letter outlining the amount and types of financial aid awards you are eligible to receive.

Loans

Your financial aid award letter from your FAFSA application will list government loans you are eligible for.

How Do I Know if All My Paperwork Is In?

You can check your status here or call the Office of Student Financial Services and have us check for you. You can also stop by the student financial services office at your convenience. After you finish filling out the FAFSA, Southeastern will send an award letter and email to the addresses listed on your FAFSA. The letter will tell you if you’re missing any paperwork.
